8yearoldsdude is originally a play on word I was very proud of that is now less applicable. I used to be a middle school teacher and I taught one setion of 4th graders who are 8 and 9. I was literally a dude in charge of 8 year olds. In The Big Lebowski, when the dude and walter are talking about Jesus the bowler (jon turturro) and how he is a pedophile, jon goodman elaborates on his point about his being a convicted sex offender by saying “8 year olds, dude.” this trangressive humor helped me deal wtih the perceived emasculation (both gender-based and intellectual) of middle school teaching.
